Intercontinental Hotel Cafe Jeepney

For Pau's despedida, we went to Intercontinental's Cafe Jeepney for dinner, c/o her Ninang who gave her five discount vouchers (thank you ninang!!). If you're a yuppie, it's very much accessible: it's along Ayala Ave and beside SM Makati, a stone throw away from MRT Ayala Station.

me and Pau. I'll miss you :(

Buffet time according to Pau was 6:30 to 10:00, but we were the first in the place at 6 pm and were allowed to eat already.

A discount site said original price is around P1,600 and the voucher is at 50%.

Ambiance was very nice (well, it's a hotel). The buffet selection is not that extensive, though, and not as culturally diverse. There's grilled food (salmon, another fish, squid, chicken inasal, pork, a longganisa-like lamb) and main course station, a sushi bar (!), a bread station (the hotel-type breads, and one hand-made pizza), two salad stations, and one looong station of deserts! There's a choco fondue, halo-halo "sahog", crushed ice, lots of cakes, panacottas, diced fruits mix (with mangoes, kiwi, dragonfruit, watermelon), and shredded melon in milk (yummy!!).

The good thing about not-so-much food is that you can say you substantially tried all, and eat a lot of your buffet favorite.

'twas fancy, indeed ;P

Chicken and corn soup and Mushroom soup.
Tried both- just the right temperature Goldilocks would want.
The taste: amazing! especially the Mushroom soup (below)

this baby's really creamy and tasty, and just in the right consistency.

Want fancy? This baby's fancy.
That yellow one to the left is potato swimming in molten mozzarella cheese.  Just freaking su-weet!
Beside it is the sweet-sauced roast chicken barbeque. Good as well.

To the left is lamb, i forgot what it it's called, but it's one of the grilled courses in the buffet.
To the right is the chicken inasal, which after roasting seems to be swimming in butter. Tasty :)
From the bread station, the handmade pizza (lots of pork xP),
the soft roll (nice), the hard roll (didn't eat it all),
and bread with cheese inside (kinda Medieval style-thumbs up for me :D )

the usual.
but the sashimi (both tuna and salmon) are cut into thick cubes, so you can really taste the firmness and the freshness of the sashimi. Thumbs up!

having some more ;P

Medium rare roast beef (thumbs up),
beef in japanese sauce (forgot the name),
and tempuraa!!

the fruit mix: yes, I really picked out the kiwi and the dragon fruit.
There was also a mango platter and it was really really sweet :)

my second take of shredded melon: i added nata de coco (from the halo halo station) and added some kiwi and dragon fruit. Heaven!

My last pick: mango cheesecake.
Mango was sweet and cheesecake was not that overwhelming.

Overall, since this was for free, I'd say it's really sulit. Can't say about the real and discounted price though, but if you're after the deserts and the fancy ambiance I'd say go for it.
