The Face Shop: Clear Away Spot

Product description: This specialized acne spot product brings out immediate effect on troubled skin. (<---packaging description)

Price: P575-ish

Consumption rate: depends on usage (will last long so long as you don't spill it like I did ;( ... )

How to use: The box emphasizes: "DO NOT SHAKE!" (There's powder settling). I have tried to dab the cotton buds on the powder settling and applied it on target areas and nothing adverse really happened.

There are two problems I normally encounter with drugstore-brand spot treatments (such as Garnier's or Eskinol's): a.) the treatment makes the zit swell, and b.) when the zit dries, the spot darkens way more than it normally would, which takes a looong time to whiten. Now these two are the least one with a breakout attack would ever want to wake up to.

A very good thing for this baby, I did not encounter any of the two. You would feel a sting (just as you would with the other brands), but the zits I dabbed on with it did not swell at all- they would either just be their normal self, or start to dry up and fade. Unlike the drugstore brands, when you dab it on the  "baby zits", it would not force the zit to grow bigger and "mature" before drying it out, and that's one thing I loved most with this product.

Also, it is gentle enough not to  "burn" the zit, causing a worse discoloration and scarring than leaving the zit alone.

On timeliness, it really varies but don't expect to have a big zit gone by overnight. But I observed that the normal life cycle timeline of my breakouts are cut quite shorter.

Overall, it not only gets the job done, it does not make the situation any worse by causing swelling or discoloration. The speed of the result may be vary and at times lag, but then I have yet to find one that cuts the time short and does not burn.

And for that, I give this one a 4 out of 5.

(Note: My facial skin type is combination skin, and is partly sensitive. I am prone to breakouts which I partly attribute to stress and the often skipping of the night time face washing, though I have my good skin days too.)
